Applied research

While my research focuses primarily on fundamental questions in social environmental science, I see fundamental research as the basis for addressing pressing applied challenges related to environmental governance, natural resource management, and regional development. Applied research questions are therefore central to my work, particularly given my experience collaborating with policy actors and stakeholders on issues related to energy transition, land use change, and socio-environmental impacts.

I am happy to contribute scientific expertise and support in the following areas:

  • Socio-environmental impact assessments of development projects, policies, and environmental interventions
  • Design and implementation of surveys on environmental attitudes, public perceptions, and social acceptance of environmental policies
  • Qualitative research on community responses to environmental change (interviews, ethnography, focus groups)
  • Analysis of social dimensions of energy transition and natural resource governance
  • Spatial analysis of socio-economic and environmental change using GIS and remote sensing
  • Integration of social science methods into interdisciplinary environmental research projects
  • Analysis of long-term socio-economic and environmental datasets related to regional development and land use change
